About
What is Reopen Phoenix?
Reopen Phoenix is an experimental open mic community dedicated to personal creativity and expression through the aural arts in a low-pressure, friendly environment.
What do you do?
Attendees with hidden musical (or other auditory) talents are invited to perform and collaborate with the group. Originals, covers, sheet music–whatever it is you do–it's all good! Bring an instrument and make some noise, or just sit back and enjoy the experience. Reopen Phoenix is an inviting, comfortable, friendly atmosphere to perform, collaborate, listen, and network with creative peers.
Reopen Phoenix is about creativity and expression, not perfection.
Talents include all genres of music, spoken word, poetry, a cappella, comedy, blues, violin, ad hoc improv: anything requiring a microphone and ears. Skill levels range from complete novice to professional full-time artist.
Why are you doing this?
Open mic events occur daily in Phoenix, but are typically held for "customer" audiences as background atmosphere or other non-creative purposes. Reopen Phoenix, however, is about collaborating with peers in a low-pressure, friendly environment that thrives on sound. We all have hidden talents, and want to hear yours!
